David Nieper is an entrant in Financial Mail’s Made in Britain competition, celebrating the very best Made in Britain manufacturers.

The 50- year old family firm designs and makes all its clothing in its own workrooms in Alfreton, Derbyshire, and is strong supporter of UK fashion manufacturing.

Managing director Christopher Nieper says: ‘Every single stitch is made in Derbyshire. The labour costs are higher here than they would be overseas but there are many benefits. Because we manufacture we can make exactly what the customer wants, the right colour and size and so on, so there is no wastage. We are also employing local people and contributing to the local economy which is very important.’
