Cutting the finest cloth from Derbyshire to Paris

David Nieper is celebrating the second anniversary of the opening of its cutting factory in Alfreton. In 2015, the company invested £750,000 in the new facility to help increase production through investment in state-of-the-art new technology.

Today, after being operational for just two years, the team has already cut over 325,000 luxury fashion garments using fabrics stretching over 400 miles – the distance between Alfreton and Paris – one of the company’s biggest export markets!

David Nieper Academy students excel in first set of GCSE results

The David Nieper Academy in Derbyshire has released its first ever set of GCSE results.

Students excelled in English language and literature with a phenomenal 85% of the year group achieving a grade 4+ (A*-C). Students also performed well in the other core subjects including Maths with almost 60% achieving 4+ and Science with almost 70% of Yr.11 students achieving A*-C. The school also had fantastic results from GCSE catering students with 83% achieving A*-C in their results.

David Nieper Academy student among UK’s youngest to cycle LEJOG

David Nieper Academy Year 7 student Kian Pearson is about to start a year long training schedule in preparation for a Land’s End to John O’Goats cycle ride with his father to raise money for Dementia UK, in memory of his Grandad.

Kian and his party plan to set off in July 2018 on a journey estimated to take just over 2 weeks from one end of the British Isles to the other.

At age 12, Kian will be among the UK’s youngest people to embark on the famous cycle ride. David Nieper wishes Kian and his family the very best of luck with training this year.

David Nieper to be fashion industry’s national apprenticeship trailblazer

Speaking at a recent Meet the Manufacturer event in London, Managing Director,  Christopher Nieper announced that David Nieper has been selected by government to be a UK fashion industry apprenticeship trailblazer.

The family business will set the UK national skills standard across three specialist job roles including; sewing machinist, pattern cutter and garment technologist.
